The market is the brainchild of Mrs. Esther Feyntola Ajala Dickson. 

A Yoruba woman from Nigeria, Feyntola or “Feyn” as she was nicknamed relocated to Ghana at the age of 14 where she married, had children and established deep roots within the Ghanaian culture.  She lamented the lack of quality indigenous Nigerian clothes, jewelry and artifacts.  Reflective of this and realizing that there was a niche and active demand for Nigerian items, she founded Feyn’s Fashions. 

Over time the  collection has expanded into items and  artifacts from all of West Africa;  Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo 

This collection is more than just items to purchase; it is a deeply personal linkage of three generations of women (Feyntola: my mother; OluwaToyin: myself: and Araba and Esi: my two daughters)  all interpreting our concepts of beauty uniquely;  yet unified through a desire to present quality and meaning through the lenses of Sankofa; past, present and tomorrow for the best of all ages.
